Government of Assam restricted buses to facilitate smooth flow of traffic during Durga Puja.
Guwahati, Oct 19(UNA): The Assam government has imposed temporary restriction on movement of Inter-district, long distance and rural service buses in Guwahati city from October 20-24 to facilitate smooth flow of traffic during the Durga Puja said government official on Friday.
The restriction has been imposed in anticipation of the traffic hazard in the roads of the city and impending danger to the lives of the general pedestrians and devotees thronging in the puja pandals on the occasion of Durga Puja, an official statement said.

Under this, long-distance buses operating under Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) in major roads inside the city will have to skip them during the mentioned period added the official statement.
This step has been taken up for the first in Assam by the government looking the inconvenient face by the public during the Puja.
