Bomb found in resident of councilor

Imphal, Oct 20(UNA) : A suspected to be a monetary demands bomb was today found in the gate of one councilor of Imphal Municipal Council, which is located under the lamphel police station said a police source.

The councilor is identified as one Soraisam Binarani Devi (50) w/o S. Ajit of Thangmeiband Thwan Leiral, who was recently elected as councilor from Thangmeiband constituency ward number 1 in Impahl west district.

According to police source, the bomb was found this early morning in the side of the residence courtyard, and later the suspect bomb to be Chinese hand grenade which was pickup by a team of state bomb experts and exploded in safe place this afternoon.

However, how and why the bomb was hurled to the residence of councilor is yet to be confirmed.

In the meantime, against the threat to the Pharmacies of the Lamlong area today, the Lamlong areas Pharmacies closed their respective shops as part of a protest against the threat by militants outfit.

In this regards a media team rush to the Lamlong areas and found that doors all of the Pharmacies was found closed with a banner saying “let the Pharmacies who serve the public freely” etc.
