All Non-Cong political parties of Manipur submitted memorendum to Governor


IMPHAL, Oct 20 (UNA): A memorandum was submitted to the Governor, Gurbachan Jagat by Seven non-Congress political parties demanding whatever transpired during Chief Minister O Ibobi’s meetings with Central leaders on the Naga issue should be deliberated in an open in all-political party meeting, regarding the appointment of Speaker Th Lokeshore’s wife Th Nivedita in the Assembly Secretariat and Loktak lake issue said Dr. M Nara on Saturday.

During the meeting the state Governor, Gurbhachand Jagat, assured the non-congress political parties to look upon the case of Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker wife appointment in Manipur Legislative Assembly saying if the appointment was racket then government will take up suitable action. Also further assured to look upon the issue of Loktak lake and other crises of the state.

The memorandum was submitted by the seven non-congress political parties leaders led by Dr M Nara CPI, convenor of the non congress political parties, N Mangi of CPI, S Umananda of MPP, Sarat Salam of CPI (M), M Tombi of JD(U) and RK Shiva of Trinamool Congress. Representatives from BJP and JD (S) were also present.

In today meeting with the Governor, GurbhaChand Jagat, the representative of the state non congress political parties, pointed out the problems faced by the people of Manipur having a nagging suspicion about possible disturbances to the terri-torial integrity of Manipur because of the Naga issue, the non-Congress leaders asserted that Chief Minister O Ibobi should have informed the people whatever points he discussed with the Union Home Minister regarding the Naga issue and possible models of resolution.

Regarding the appointment of Speaker Th Lokeshore’s wife Th Nivedita in the Assembly Secretariat against a post of Under Secretary, they alleged that it was a case of blatant abuse of power by the Speaker/Deputy Speaker. And Its a case of befooling the people and defiling democracy.

And further urge the state Governor to investigate into all cases of unnecessary and fraudulent appointments in the Assembly Secretariat. By demanding immediate termination of all the Assembly Secretariat employee’s who were appointed in wrongful manner, and also urged to take up suitable actions against the officials who issued OBC certificates to undeserving people.

Regarding the Loktak Lake published by the “Tehelka Magazine” the state non-congress political party further pointed out to the Governor and urge for a thorough investigation allotting the project of Phumdi clearance work from Loktak Lake to a fictitious company named M/S K Pro Infra Works Ltd by LDA which is headed by Chief Minister O. Ibobi Singh as chairman.

Regarding where and how the sanctioned amount of Rs 224 crores was utilized, they further asked as to why the single tender process was adopted without its genuiness.
