BSF constable commits suicide

IMPHAL, Jan 8: A Head constable of the BSF “G” coy, posted at Churachandpur district committed suicide near the Company post's mess hall today early morning with his service weapon.

The head constable has been identified as riflemen number 882553461, Paras Nath Pal (44) son of late Sukdev Pal of Dalpatpur Village, Baliya district under Jamalpur in Uttar Pradesh. He was found to have committed suicide by shooting himself with his service 5.56 Insas rifle in his chest at around 2.15 am today.

He sustained 3 bullets in his chest and is said to have been posted recently in the G company post on 4th December last year from the 23rd battalion BSF. The actual cause for the act of suicide could not be ascertained till the filling of this report. Meanwhile, the post mortem of the dead body of Paras Nath Pal was conducted today at RIMS morgue today evening and the body will be flown back to his native place tomorrow. Churachandpur police station has taken up a case regarding the incident.
