Panchayat secretary shot at, 2.6 Lakh looted

Guwahati, Oct 5 : One person was severely injured when he was shot at a short range. The incident occurred at Agiathuri on Friday afternoon.

According to report the person was travelling on a Tata Magic van and on the way to Guwahati.
6 miscreants who were on three Pulsar bikes first stopped the magic and dragged the person out of the vehicle and shot him.

The person has been identified as Mijanur Ali. Ali is the secretary the Saniyadi village panchayat. Mijanur Ali and his associate Makibur

Rahman was coming to Guwahati to purchase some goods for the panchayat. The miscreants physically assaulted Makibur Rahman and alsolooted 2.60 Lakh from them.

Mijanur Ali has been admitted to Guwahati Medical College Hospital in serious condition. The miscreants have escaped on the Hajo Guwahati road after the incident.
