Huge quantity of explosives device detected-SP
Imphal, Oct 6(UNA): Imphal West police has recovered highly explosive material supposed to be carried out subversive activities in Imphal areas specially to attack the state security personnel on Saturday.
This was said by the SP Imphal west K. Jayenta in a press conference held at Imphal west police headquarter conference hall.
During the conference the SP said, thorough investigation of the FIR number, u/s 307/34 IPC 25 (I-C) A, act, 20 UA (P)Amdt.Act & 4 Expl.Subs. Act of Lamphel police station i.e. the encounter between CDO/Imphal west and unknown UG at Takyel Khonbal Road to NH-37, the Imphal west police could establish the identified of the slain UG and his involvement in prejudicial activities. As identified by the family members the slain UG is one Sapam Ranjan (18) s/o S. Ratan Meitei of Sagolband Moirang Hanuba Leirak, who is a hard core trained cadre of KYKL joined the organization eight years ago.
SP said, in the investigation the state police further establish that he has been assigned to carry out subversive activities in Imphal area by laying/detonating & IEDs targeting security forces in crowded and market area for which he had brought huge quantity of explosive and kept concealed at Sagolband area.
The said explosive was recovered by a team of police from Sagolband Khanman Leirak from one canal which dumped on the evening of 5th October. The recovered explosive materials are 12 numbers of RDX slab weighing about 500 gram, 3 numbers of Remote Control Key Device, 15 numbers of Electric detonator wire, 12 numbers of Electricity circuit board and 8 numbers of dry cell battery containing inside a bag.
From the examination of the recovered items with the state bomb experts it is revealed that the KYKL cadres were planning to carry out serial of blast in Imphal city areas, However with the timely detection of the explosives series of blast can be prevented said the SP.
