Vehicle rams leopard to dead

Bishnupur, Sep 27 : In a very rare incident for the state of Manipur a young Leopard was killed in a residential area when a moving vehicle collided with the animal at Khoijuman Maning Leikai, Bishenpur district, in the early morning, Thursday.

N.Biren singh, designated forest officer, Bishenpur told UNA that the official of forest department recovered the death body of Leopard at around 8:30 am though the incident takes place around 4am.

The Forest department was already in alert and taken up measurement when they found the reports a foot print of roaming tiger or leopard and others wild animals in some part of the Bishenpur district area and nearby said Biren singh.

Biren, appealed to the peoples of the area to be in alert and should inform police and forest department official if anyone witness any wild animals in the area which can be a dangerous for the human life.

The accident was occurred when a group of women vendor were heading for khwairamband market, Imphal in a Tata magic today early morning.

According to the eye witness said that when the vehicle reach Khoijuman maning leikai area, the young Leopard jump into the front light of the vehicle which cause the dead of the animal.

Mention may be here that few weeks back there was a report that a foot print of Leopard were come across in the area of Keibul Lamjou a National park located in Bishnupur district.
