FC Khanglai won Sadar Hills District League 2012

KANGPOKPI, Sept. 8: FC Khanglai, Saikul overcame FC Muvanlai by a solitary goal to wrest the champion title of Sadar Hills District League 2012.

The final match was played today at Brig. M. Thomas Ground Kangpokpi with Smt. Nemcha Kipgen, MLA Kangpokpi AC and Shri. Chongpu Kipgen, MCS, Chief Executive Officer Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council, Kangpokpi gracing the closing ceremony as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively.

AMFA Vice President Shri. P. Raghumani, Shri Kh. Mohori along with Asst. General Secretary of AMFA Shri. L. Jyotirmoy Roy and Representative of SHDSA to AMFA Shri. A. Ashinikumar Sharma were also present in the closing ceremony.

Shri. Chongpu Kipgen in his speech advised the young footballer in the district to improve the district football status every session and to maintain top discipline.

Giving discipline top most priority for the sportsperson to become a real hero for the society and the nation in the field of games and sports, Smt. Nemcha Kipgen as Chief Guest of the function encouraged the sportspersons to learn good discipline and to work hard. She asked the sportspersons of the district to take MC Mary Kom as an example and keep up the good work.

In the final match between FC Muvanlai and FC Khanglai, the solitary and winning goal of FC Khanglai came through Momon Jersey No. 7 in 56 minutes of second half when one of FC Muvanlai player touch the ball in his hand inside the penalty box.
