KSO bans PHED scheme at Masem Lui
IMPHAL, December 18: The Kuki Students’ Organisation, Thangting unit has banned the ongoing Accelarated Water Supply Scheme under Bishnupur district at Masem Lui (Ngaidei River).
Conveying it in a press release today, it said that the water at Masem Lui is not sufficient at all for supply of large number of people, adding that the water is only enough only for the local people and there is no question of accelerating to other locations and also due to shortage of water at Masem Lui, the said project undertaken by Bishnupur PHED should stop with immediate effect, it said.
It further said that the village chiefs were not consulted at the time of implementing the scheme as per Kuki customary laws and added that the village chiefs must be consulted and taken into confidence before taking out any project, work or scheme, it said.
