Jiribam observes Ningol Chakkouba

JIRIBAM, November 6: The All Jiribam United Club Association, Jiribam organized the Ningol Chak Kouba festival on November 5 at the Hilghat Community Hall, Jiribam under the theme “Day of Remembering Our Elder Sisters and sisters” (Eikhoigee Eche-Echalsingbu Ningsingba Numit – Ningol Chakouba).

Women’s from different communities attended the festival showing the mark of unity in diversity.

Apart from the feast, the festival was followed by a programme with distinguished luminaries from different communities in attendance.

The dais of the programme was shared by Tahemeng Panmei gen-secy, All Jiribam Tribal Union; M Maipaksana Mangang, president, AJUCA, Jiribam; Jangsat- president, Jiri – Tamenglong Kuki Community;  Md Badain, social worker; Henna Vaiphei, Khaidakup Paite and Preeti Malik as chief guest, presidents and guests of honour, respectively.

In his speech, Heena Vaiphei said that he firmly belief whatever the misunderstanding have been among the communities can be removed by the wills of God, if we unite together in such a way every year.

The functionary chief guest Tahemeng Panmei in his speech said that in Jiribam there is different caste, creeds and races of people, if we live unitedly than there will be peace and harmony and we would be the role model of Manipur.

Further, he said that the role of women in building the society is very important, if everyone is sincere then we can make our society a better one.

M Maipaksana Mangang said that the main theme of such festival arranged by the All Jiribam United Club Assn. is to create an abiding love between brothers and sisters and among the people.

He further wished all the ‘ningols’ who attended the festival for their glorious future.

Meanwhile, the Jiri Development Organisation (JDO), Jiribam aslo observed the day at the premises of Jiri Ima Meira Paibee Apunba Lup (JIMPAL) office.

Sinam Tonubabu Singh, president, Senior Citizen Forum, Jiribam; Mutum Hemanta, president, Jiri Development Organisation (JDO) and Kangabam Subhasini Devi, advisor, Jiri Development Organisation (JDO) attended as chief guest, president and guest of honour, respectively.

“Let us forget ill wills, bad feeling among us and try to bring a prosperous Manipur”, speakers echoed at the function.
