Two jail security personnel caught with banned good items inside the jail

IMPHAL, Sep 01(Universal News Agency): Manipur Jail Authority has approach state government for the replace of security personnel with a neutral force as there are various cases of good banned items like Mobile phone, cigarette, chewing tobaccos etc. are frequently detect inside the jail from the prisoners.

“The jail authority has approached the state government” for the replacement of the security personnel with a neutral force, after the jail security caught two jail security personnel with a good banned items this morning around 6am said Emanuel K Muivah, SP (Jail) while briefing to reporters at his office chamber at Shajiwa Central Jail.

Two Villages Defence Force (VDF) personnel who are caught today are namely Oinam Surendra Singh (27) of Oinam Maning Leikai and Elangbam Chitaranjan Singh (27) from Trongloubi who are among the VDF personnel deploy for guarding the jail along with state police commandos.

This is not the first case which involves security personnel in supplying banned good items to the prisoners, today morning the two VDF personnel were caught with six packets of chewing tobaccos and two boxes of cigarette added the SP (Jail).

The items were concealed inside there boots which are mean for selling to the prisoners further said K Muivah.

They were handed over to the Heingang police station, Imphal East district where the case is registered.
