Two gunned down

Imphal, Sep 17: Two suspected militants were shot down by the security force here in Manipur in a separate incident of encounter said a police source on Monday.

In the first incident of encounter one suspected to be a cadre of PrePak was shot down by the 35 Assam Rifles between Hormungland and Khongtang Village, Chandel district under Chakpikarong police station.
According to the police one AK rifles and 145 rounds of 7.62 ammunition and 13 empty cases of AK rifles were recovered from the slain body of the militant.

The encounter took place on September 15 but the AR ménage to report only on the morning of September 17 added the police source.

In another encounter where the commandos of Imphal East district shot down one suspected militant at Kharasom Village under Inphal East district at about 9:05 pm of September 15.

From the militant dead body one 9mm pistol loaded with three live rounds, one Chinese hand grenade and one Honda Activa scooter were recovered according to the police.

The two dead bodies are kept in the morgue of JNIMS and RIMS for their identification added the police source.
