Panchayat Poll: Counting of votes started

Imphal Sep 17: In the history of Manipur election, it is reported that in Zilla Parishad of Pallel Mayai Leikai two candidate of member were found same number of vote of 135 each, after a lottery by the Returning Officer one L. Bimola Devi was elected in the counting of the 4^th Panchayat election Manipur commence under tight security measurement on Monday.

The counting for the 4^th general election of Panchayat started this morning at 8am for the four valley district in the Deputy Commissioner office including the office of additional DC Jiribam. And it is reported that so far around 60 percent of the counting is over so far.

According to the official source here in Imphal west district under the RO Patsoi, out of 5 zilla parishad, 14 Pradhan and 189 members so far in Bamdya Zilla Parisad, RO has announced 23 member candidate were elected, 3 Pradhan and 1 Zilla parishad. And in Yurembam ZP, 22 members, 3 pradhan and 1 ZP were also announced elected.

Under RO Lamsang, out of 4 Zilla Parishad, 10 Pradhan and 70 members, 20 members, two Pradhan and one ZP are so far announced and for Khurkhul, Zilla Parishad members 26 were announced elected and for the Zilla Parishad and Pradhan the counting is still going on.

And under Wangoi RO out of 5 Zilla Parishad, 15 Pradhan and 129 members, the result for 19 members could be known so far, and for 2 Pradhan, for the remaining the counting will continue till tomorrow added official source.
