48 hours state-wide bandh called off
Imphal, Sep 18: The KSO (Kuki Students’ Organization) general headquarters has suspended the proposed 48 hour’s state wide bandh which due to start from September 19th mornings after an agreement arrived with the Education Minister this afternoon at his office chamber.
Following the agreements arrived at between the KSO and the Education Minister M. Okendro with respect to the demands of the KSO and other students’ organizations, the decision to impose the 48 hours state-wide bandh has been suspended said Sasang Vaiphei, general secretary, GHQ.
That the TET forms would now be made available in the entire district headquarters through concerned DC/ZEOs. The demand for extension of the last date of submission of TET form has been considered and the form will be now made available for a longer duration of time and the date of the TET examination also has been deferred and a convenient date will be fixed soon added Sasang Vaiphei.
Regarding the proposal for the opening of TET examination centres in all the district headquarters the Education Minister has assured the organization that the matter would be seriously looked into, so that the TET exam centres be opened in all the district headquarters from the next year.
The intricacies and technical problems involved in shifting the exam centres at short notice were duly considered by the organization. As such, TET examination centres will be open in every district headquarters from next year onward added the GHQ general secretary.
According to the release sign by the Education Minister M. Okendro that the meeting was chaired by him to discuss on various issues related to holding of TET examination.
The meeting was also attended by the MLAs including members of the Manipur state Education Consultative Committee namely Vungzagin Valte, MLA, Thanlon AC, M.K Preshow, MLA, Chingai AC, Nemcha Kipgen, MLA, Kangpokpi AC, Z. Kikhonbou Newmai, MLA, Tamei AC. Victor Nonglur, MLA, Chandel AC, Dr. Alexander Pao, MLA Karong AC, Dr, Suresh Babu, Principal Secretary (Edn-S), Government of Manipur, H. Deleep Singh, Director of Education (S) Government of Manipur and the representatives of Kuki Students’ Organization (KSO) and Democratic Students’ Alliance Manipur (DESAM).
The meeting also took a four points of consensus agreement added the release.
