"I am the Minister for the poor and needy not for wealthy people": Ngamthang Haokip

KANGPOKPI (KANGGUI), December 1:  "Give me power to help the poor and needy people is my humble prayer to God", said Ngamthang Haokip, IFC Minister, Govt.of Manipur before adding that I am the Minister for the poor and needy not for wealthy people".

The IFC Minister was speaking on the first Charity Programme-Charity Show in aid of Orphanage children in Sadar Hills organized by Agape Children Home, Kanggui today at Kanggui C.C.Hall.

Ngamthang Haokip further asserted that those who help the poor and the needy as well as orphans and religious leaders are a blessed person for they are doing the will of God.

The Minister continued that it is the blessed gift of God that I am always inducted as a Cabinet Minister every time I am elected as an MLA to help and support the poor and needy people.

While encouraging the orphanage children the IFC Minister lamented that during my childhood days if there was an Orphanage Home I will be also there because my parents passed away when I was a little boy like you. But with the prayer and patient with determination now I am one honourable and responsible Minister of the State.

"If I can be a Minister you(the orphanage children) can also become one respectable and responsible person in future", the Minister added.


While wishing a Christmas wish to all the orphanage children the Minister donate Rs.20,000/- cash to the Agape Children Home, Kanggui as a Christmas gift and appeal everyone yo struggle hard for peaceful celebration of Christmas in the areas.

Ngamthang Haokip also paid a visit to Agape Children Home at Kanggui Ward.No.11 where he meet with the orphanage children and assured to donated a sum of Rs.5 lacs for its building construction.

H.Joseph, Father of Agape Children Home emotionally narrated the tremendous hardships faced by the Home and expresses gratitude to everyone who helped them in times of need while he appeals to everyone to support and cooperate with the Home authority for the cause of the orphanage children.

Chonkam Kipgen, Chairman Kanggui Town Committee who attended the program as Orphans Father asserted that every head of the family in the town should assumed that they are the father of Orphans.

Cultural dance and choreography from Orphanage children and various cultural troupes marked the occasion.

Various Gospel artistes from every Churches within Kanggui and among the orphanage children as well as Guest Artistes Jenny, Nemsemhoi, Wycliff Lunneo and Boijang enthralled the congregate.

A part from various civil organizations, Church leaders, social workers and around thousand of general public, Rev.K.Hangshing, Pastor TBA Kanggui attended the function as Minister.

In the meantime, the organization committee source said that the second Charity Programme-Charity Show will be organize at Keithelmanbi village along NH-2 on 7 Dec.2013.
