Bangladeshi artist to perform Ras today
IMPHAL, December 7: With the objective of spreading the message of peace, love and friendship, a Bangladeshi Muslim artist Tamanna Rahaman will perform Manipuri Ras at the MFDC Hall, Palace Compound, tomorrow.
The renowned artist is here with her three students to perform the dance during the International Indian Classical Dance Festival 2013 on the 76th Vyasa Pujah Ceremony of his BS Damodara Swami Srila Sripada on Sunday.
Tamanna, a professional dancer has performed in different countries across the world taking the message of peace Love and friendship where ever she performed.
Tamanna is now running Nrityam dance school at Dhaka completed Master Degree from Rabindra Bharati University Kolkata. On the other hand the renowned Odissi dancer Sita from France will perform her Odyssey dance, Another Srilankan dancer Dhanushka Washeera will perform Kroshna Nartan, state Artist Laxmi Devi will perform Dasa Avatar, Manipuri Solo by Nandarani Devi and Reepa Devi, Nannichuri by M Dineshwari Devi, and Nata Shankritan (which was recently included in the world heritage category of UNESCO) will be perform by Guru L Lakpati and his party.
The INDICLAD International Dance Festival 2013 is being organised by Ranganiketan, Srila Sripada Educational Foundation under the theme “For peace, harmony and Unity in Manipur.”
