Annual Sports Meet of Shishu Nistha Niketan begins
Imphal, December 16 : The 14th Annual Sports Meet of Shishu Nistha Niketan was opened today, the 16th December 2013.
The Opening Ceremony of the 14th Annual Sports Meet was held today, the 16th December 2013 with Dr. J Sureshbabu, Principal Secretary of Education (S) and Home, Government of Manipur as Chief Guest; Dr. T Yumjaobabu, Prof. Surgery, RIMS & Vice President of Pakhangba Cultural Club (PCC) as Guest of Honour and Shri Suranjan Lairenjam, Chairman of Shishu Nistha Niketan as President of the inaugural function.
Ms. N. Elizabeth, Principal of Shishu Nistha Niketan welcomes the dignitaries and invitees to the opening ceremony of the 14th Annual Sports Meet. In her welcome address to the 14th Annual Sports Meet 2013-14 being held from 18 to 21 December 2013, she said, “Sport is an indispensable part of Education. True education should aim at developing an all round personality of the student. Education should, therefore, result in the intellectual, moral and physical development of children. Education and sports are correlated. While education awakens the mind and kindles the light of knowledge, sports help to shape the physique; and culture disciplines.”
Dr. T Yumjaobabu, Guest of Honour in his speech, talked to the school children about good health and advised players to play with “True Sportsmanship” whether you win or lose; you have to accept gracefully the result by shaking hands with your opponent.”
Dr. J Sureshbabu, Chief Guest said, “The school has grown, the last 14 years to very high level of educational standards setting example to many other institutions in this state.”
Suranjan Lairenjam, Chairman of Shishu Nistha Niketan as President of the function said, “Shishu Nistha Niketan has left no stone unturned in implementing all the provisions of Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) in its true spirit.”
