Prof. KV Thomas to inaugurate FCI godown on Wednesday

Imphal, November 12:  A 5000 tones FCI Godown will be inaugurated by the Minister of State (Independent Charges) for CAF & PD, government of  India, Prof. KV Thomas tomorrow at Manipur’s Senapati district said official source on Tuesday.

Speaking to media persons the Minister who landed at Imphal Aiport this afternoon observed that the ambitious food security Bill is going ahead in 17 states of the country while the same will be implemented in the North eastern states during the month of February-March next year. The visiting minister also revealed that main thrust will also be given to the existing PDS System by modernizing the system.

The MoS further said that the Prime Minister has given instruction to construct a regional FCI office in the state while discussion over the matter was reportedly held with the Prime Minister, Union Minister and chief minister of the state, Okram Ibobi few days back.
