AMWJU meets Dy CM and Works Minister

IMPHAL, July 17: The All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union has today said in a press release that the member s of the Standing Committee led by its president Shamjai Wangkhemcha visited the Dy CM and Home Minister, Gaikhangam and Works Minister, Dr Kh Ratankumar Singh on July 16. The AMWJU team first visited the Home Minister highlighting him of the grievances of the media fraternity in the state.

The Home Minister assured the visiting team not to only highlight the development programs of the government but also to report the achievements in the private sector of the local entrepreneurs, it said.

There was a consensus in the meeting for maintaining good relationship between Govt and Press Media and also avoiding miscommunication which had created confusions earlier, adding that if such situation arises despite due efforts, a quick solution should be reached before a third party intervenes, it said.

The same team went to Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar Singh urging the Minister for a possible maintenance of the Press Club. The Works Minister who had been also extending support to the scribe body wholeheartedly has given his commitment on this regard, it added.

As a part of the commitment of the Woks Minister, a team of engineer of the works department  visited the Press Club in the morning of July 17 and did necessary ground work in this regard, the press release thus concluded.
