Son kills dad after quarrel

IMPHAL, Nov 19 : In an incident that is as shocking as it was macabre, a quarrel between a father and a son turned nasty resulting in the death of the father at the hands of his son.

The shocking incident happened at Uchiwa Wangma Taba Litan Makhong, under Mayang Imphal police station at about 7.30 pm yesterday.

Sagolsem Raju (37) was talking with his mother when he was suddenly his father Khoihi (60) caned him from behind.

Raju hit back using an iron rod which was lying nearby inflicting fatal injuries.

In the next moment, Raju fled from the place and went into hiding.

Preparations were being made for cremation of Khoihi this morning when local people came to know about last night’s incident.

Subsequently, police were informed and the corpse was taken to RIMS morgue.

According to Purnimashi (55), wife of Khoihi, the father-son duo used to quarrel every now and then in inebriated conditions.

Last night too, both of them were in inebriated conditions.

In connection with the incident, a case has been registered at Mayang Imphal police station.
