NPF Vice President Semdok resigns from party

KOHIMA, Nov 21 (NEPS): In a major setback to the ruling NPF, Er TL Semdok, Vice President of the party, has resigned today from the party as well as from the Active and Primary membership of the party.

In a resignation letter addressed to the NPF President today, the NPF Vice President pointed out that as per the resolution adopted in a consultative meeting held on October 16 last at the Pongo Village which was attended among others by NPF functionaries under 50 A/C Longlen and Council Members of 15 Villages, he should resign from the post of party (NPF)’s Vice President as well as Active and Primary membership of the party with effect from November 21, 2012.

It may be mentioned that a Consultative Meeting of supporters of TL Semdok, consisting of NPF party functionaries under 50 A/C Longlen, Village Council Members, GBs and general public was held on October 16 last at Pongo Village in connection with the forthcoming State Assembly election due next year.

In the Meeting, the house unanimously resolved that Semdok should resign from the post of Vice President of the NPF as well as Active and Primary membership of the party. They also resolved to support him unconditionally in the forthcoming election for the uplift of the downtrodden people of the constituency which had been neglected particularly in the areas of education, employment and other infrastructure developments for the last 40 years.

In view of the resolution adopted, Semdok said he had to abide by the decision of the Consultative Meeting as he was a leader of “my people I respect and bound by supporters’ decisions.” Asking the NPF President to accept his resignation from the post of the party’s Vice President as well as Active and Primary Membership of the party, Semdok, who lost in the last election to Pangyu Phom, Parliamentary Secretary for RD, said his decision to leave the party was to make him enable to contest in the forthcoming State general elections due March next year.
