One UG killed in encounter

Imphal, Oct 1: One suspected UG was shot down by the Manipur police commandos in an encounter which took place today around 6:30 pm near Sports Authority of India (SAI) at Takyelpat in Imphal west district.

The encounter occurred when the commandos were conducting frisking and checking in the inter-village road near SAI said the police.

During the course of frisking and checking the police try to stop him for the verification but the slain person fire upon the police team instead of stopping and killed the retaliate firing of the police said a police officer who was present in the site of the encounter.

The suspected UG cadre shot some 13 rounds towards the police but fortunately no one was injure added the police.

The police recovered four empty cashes of AK 47 and 13 empty cashes of 9mm pistol along with one live round and some .32 empty cash and one Hand Grenade from the slain body.

Before picking up the dead body the concern State police and forensic deparment examine the dead body in the spot.
