Biramangol College clinches both men’s and women’s titles

IMPHAL, Oct 2: Biramangol college today claimed both the men’s and women’s handball titles of the Capt. Sanoujam Ingo Singh (retd) handball championship at the Manipur University Sports complex today.

Biramangol college women’s team defeated the DM College of Science team by 17-15 to clinched the Sanoujam (o) Ayekpam Nalini Devi Memorial Championship Trophy for MU Inter College Handball (Women) title.

Sanjita (5), Nanda (4), Helena (5), Julia (2) and Yaiphabi (1) scored for Biramangol college while, Sunibala scored 14 and Bidyaluxmi scored one for DM college Science.

In the Men’s final, Biramangol college defeated Regional college by 26-17 to clinch the Capt. Sanoujam Ingo Singh (retd) Championship Trophy for MU Inter College Handball (Men) title.

Raju scored 10, Taibanganba scored six, Praveen four, Sanjesh three Shyamsunder two and Sunil (1) for Biramangol college.

Robinson (6), Sidhartha (5), Seityabarta (3) Ronald (2) and Warjit (1) for Regional College.

The closing function was attended by Dean of Students’ Welfare, MU, Prof Th Ratankumar Singh as chief guest, Assitant Director of Sports, MU, Dr Ch Pradeep Singh as president and Former Dy Registrar, MU ad Donor of trophies Capt. Sanoujam Ingo Singh (retd) as guest of honour.

The invitees also distributed the trophies of the tournament.
