Bomb Blast rocks Imphal city
Imphal, Sep 25: A twin blast rocked Imphal city on Tuesday after a series of bomb blast occurred within this week.

The first blast occurred at a northern wall of the office of PIB Defence Wing near Raj Bhavan in the heart of Imphal City at around 5.30 am, while the second blast occurred at Khwairapan (Bishnupur district) along the National highway 150 Imphal-Churachandpur Road this morning 5 am said police source.
The blast took place at PIB Defence Wing, M-Sector northern wall, however there is no reports of any casualty except some window glass and goods damage. In this regard the Imphal police have registered a case added police report.
In the blast at Khwairapan located under the Bishnupur district. The bomb was triggered at the approach road of the camp of 6/8 Gorkha Rifles post. But there was no report of casualties.
In the meantime a highly explosive IED weighing 5 kg was also found planted at Moidongpok along National Highway 37 Imphal-Silchar road this morning at around 5 am. The IED was defused timely by bomb expert teams of Manipur Police.
It may be mentioned here that an Assam Rifles jawan was killed in a bomb blast at Kumbi triggered by banned People’s Liberation Army while more than ten security personnel were sustain injuries in recent series of bomb blast in Manipur valley within this month.
On the otherhand in another bomb related incident, today morning at around 11 am Imphal east district Zilla Parishad adhyasha P. Bimola Devi residence located at Heingang Mayai Leikai in Imphal east district was attack by suspected arm miscreant by hurling a Chinese hand grenade.However the bomb was not exploded, and fail in the courtyard of resident, In this regards the Heingang police has registered and cases.
