Assam Chief Minister reviews flood situation

Guwahati, Sep 28: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi reviewed the flood situation with ministers and district administration of Morigaon at PWD Inspection Bungalow at Jagiroad on Friday.
Gogoi directed the district administration to leave no stone unturned to provide all possible help to the flood affected people of the district. He asked the ministers to closely monitor the situation and to ensure every affected person got relief materials.
Gogoi said, “We have to reach out to the flood affected people and to provide help to them in their hour of need”.
The top priorities of the Government are to rescue the marooned people and to provide relief materials to the affected. The Chief Minister told the district administration to ensure gratuity relief, tarpaulin, bleaching powder, phenyl etc.
Gogoi said, safe drinking water must be ensured by installing tube wells. Fodder must also be kept in sufficient stock for the livestock.
The Chief Minister also directed the administration to keep sufficient number of country boats for rescue and relief operations in the flood areas.
