“Personnel involved in crimes will not be spared”

IMPHAL, August 27: “The State government has a large number of security personnel. It has a strength of around 30 thousand personnel. In such a large force, it is for sure that there are some black sheep. But such personnel who are found involved in any crimes will not be spared.”

The state Home Minister replied to a question raised by media persons regarding the reported involvement of several police personnel during a press conference at his office chamber today.

Acknowledging the involvement of police personnel in crimes in the state, he said, it is true that there are also other cases where involvement of security personnel was reported. But, he said that he has seen some improvement and he will continue with his effort to make it better.

Meanwhile, it may be mentioned here that on August 25, a VDF personnel identified as Md Matalip of Tarahei Konjit, Hiyangthang was caught with a stolen Honda Activa near Model Club in Chingamakha by the locals recently.
