“Teacher-student relation necessary for students development”

IMPHAL, November 2: A good relation between teachers and students is very crucial under all circumstances for visible academic and social development of the students, observed state Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam.

Elaborating on the importance of the relation, he stated that a good relationship between the teachers and the students helps the students in their learning process and build up their desire to learn.

The deputy chief minister was addressing the 6th School Annual Day function cum Teachers’ Day celebration of Lee Faith School, Sangaiprou as the chief guest. The function was also attended by Health and Family Welfare, Phungzathang Tonsing as the functional president.

Gaikhangam further encouraged the students to be more laborious in their studies and never lost the intent to be a better man in life.

Speaking at the function, Phungzathang Tonsing observed that students should respect their teachers and parents alike. Seconding what the Dy CM had said earlier, he stated that students who are close to their teachers and maintain a positive relation with their teachers will attain higher level of achievement than their peers. He continued that a teacher’s dedication and concerns in building a students’ career is remarkable and should not be disregarded.

He continued that when Lee Faith School was established, it was only for the lower classes, but now the school has acquired recognition from the Board of Secondary Education Manipur to open till class 10; and added that process for expansion of the school campus and infrastructure to incorporate the higher classes.

The school also presented gifts to the teachers.
