MBC organize a Ningol Chakkouba
Imphal, November 6: Woman are the “Ambassador for peace, unity and love among the society” stated the Dy. CM Gaikhangam on the occasion of Ningol Chakkaouba on Tuesday.
Ningol Chakkouba (feast for married women at parental home) was widely celebrates in the state of Manipur.
One of the main even of Ningol Chakkouba was held at Manipur Baptish Church (MBC), Imphal under the theme “Celebrating the Honour of Sisters” was organized by MBC and Tangkhul Church Charitable Trust (TCCT), New Delhi and the main function highlight was a grant feast for the married women to the other communities.
Speaking as chief guest the Dy. CM Gaikhangam said that today function is the foundation of peace, unity and love of the state where all the communities of the state are celebrating the occasion without differentiating each other.
Manipur has a festival throughout the year but today festival “Ningol Chakkouba” is most meaningful festival where a bond of love of brother, sister and parental use to be strenghten on this day added the Dy. CM.
In the earlier days the festival use to be celebrated by the valley peoples only but since many year back the hills people also started to celebrate the day in mass in most of the hills district or by organizing a similar programme of today Gaikhangam stated.
Perticipating the festival as a chief host the veteran congress politician and member of Rajya Shaba, Rishang Keishing and a former CM of the state said that today programme is specially organized for those woman of hills who married to other communities.
It is a festival valley family but today most of the hills people celebrated widely by organizing the programme on mass by inviting the daughter of hills people’s who married to valley people which has strenghten the bond of love among hills and valley added the MP.
The organizer also gave a token of love to the invities woman which was followed by a grant feast.
