District council problem is people’s problem: Chairman, ADC, Sadar Hills
KANGPOKPI, Nov 8: "District Council in Manipur is in a miserably unfortunate status having scant power but not sufficient enough to realize the people's dreams" asserted Haokholal Hangshing, Chairman ADC Sadar Hills while pointing out that the problem of District Council is the problem of the people.
The Chairman, ADC Sadar Hills was speaking at the function of 16-Molkon ADC Constituency Primary Level Inter School Sports meet organized at T.Gamnom Village where a free medical camp of the same ADC was conducted today.
The sports meet was organized by Paotinlun Chongloi, local MDC, 16-Molkon ADC constituency for recreation of the students of primary schools within 16-Molkon ADC Constituency under ADC Sadar Hills.
The function was also attended by Tingneilhing Hangshing, wife of the Chairman; Lunthang, executive member; Bonthaolung, executive member; Lalboi, as well as Zilthang, MDC apart from various church leaders, village authorities, school headmaster/headmistress, teaching staffs and students representatives.
The chairman further continued that development of education should be conducted from the grass-root level. Therefore, both the teachers as well as parents should co-operate and nurture the children hand in hand, he added that the way children are brought up is very much vital for bringing about development from the grass-root level.
Paotinlun Chongloi, the local MDC stressed the necessity of games and sports in children's physical fitness towards their learning adding that games and sports is also a part of imparting holistic education.
Seven UJB School of 16-Molkon ADC constituency, namely Jangnoi, Thingphai, C.Kholen, Denglen, Somphong, T.Gamnom and Songbem UJB took part in the meet.
Denglen UJB School won the title of the meet and was awarded a trophy with a cash prize while Somphong UJB School bagged the second place.
In the meantime, all the participating students were distributed football uniforms by the ADC Sadar Hills.
