24 hr general strike got a mix responce
Imphal, Nov 15: The 24 hour general strike called by the JAC against the killing of MPP vice president H. Manisana on Friday got a mix responses.
Owning the the general strike, all kind of schools and institutions were shattered down for the day, business establishment were closed in Khwairambam market, Paona and Thangal bazar in Imphal city but large numbers of private and Diesel auto passenger but lesser than normal day could be seen plying in and around Imphal city.
Inter-state and district passenger buses were off the road for the day.
Mention may be made here that the vice president of MPP H. Manisana was killed on last Nov. 13 morning near Tulihal airport by a motor-cycle-borne.
At the same time a political party like BJP, MSCP, CPI, Janata Dal, TMC, NPF etc strongly the condemned the killing of the public leader.
Even the Manipur People’s Party president, Sovakiran has stated that the state government needs to review the present security movement in the state, including the inteligent agencies of the state. And demand to re-survey the security of the state.
