Powerful bomb blast rocked Imphal city
Imphal, October 29: At least five non local including one Manipuri got injured in a powerful bomb blast which rocked the Imphal city in the early morning on Tuesday where police suspect to be IED with remote control.
Today at about 5:55am the bomb blast took place near Vairodan Govt. High School adjacent to Dharamsala where non local coolie and Rickshaw puller dominate the area of the blast site.
The injured person are identified as Ishant chakravoty (18) son of Rupa of Sora Thoubal, Rajbir Sharma (17) son of Nirmal Sharma from Sora, Thoubal district, both of them are presently staying at Paona bazaar in a rented room, they got splinter injured on their legs, Abujam Arun (21) son of Achou Singh from Heirok part-I and got a sustain injury, Raghunath (28) son of Rahgunath Mandop of Bihar and presently stayed at Naga Mapal Kangjabi and Shambhu Saha (21) son of Sugan saha of Bihar at present stayed at Khuyathong, both are professionally a Rickshaw puller.
All of them were rush to RIMS hospital for a treatment. According to police, the bomb might be targeting to the non local as it is dominated by them in Imphal area. Dy. SP (L&O) Dr. S Ibomcha and other police official with Bomb expert inspected the blast site.
The impact of the blast damaged the compound wall of the school, uprooted the roof and school rooms. Manually pull thela parked nearby the blast site also damaged and at least two van parked nearby were also damaged.
It can be noted here that today bomb blast is the third blast in the Imphal city in a month, on last 18 a powerful bomb blast took place at Mahatma Gandhi Avenue but there was no casualty and again on last 26 another blast occurred at North AOC near Kangla gate where one jawan of AR got injured.
