Meanwhile captain of Indian cricket team Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Shooter Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore have also congratulated the pugilist on her achievement, television reports suggest.
The win ensured her a Bronze to the very least, making it India's best ever Olympics.
India has already won three medals- one Silver and two Bronze- in the current edition of the Olympics.
She will square up for semis clash on Wednesday.

IMPHAL, Aug 6: Manipur Home Minister Gaikhangam has congratulated MC Mary Kom on her victory against Tunisia's Maroua Rahali in the quarter final bout of 51-kg women’s boxing at the London Olympics, 2012.
Gaikhangam further wished her to bring laurels to the country and state by winning the gold medal.
The Home Minister also announced that the state government would confer the post of Additional SP in Manipur Police to Mary Kom besides lucrative cash incentive prizes.
