CSOs, student bodies forms fact finding team to inspect damaged Jiri College auditorium

JIRIBAM, May 15: Several civil society organizations and other student bodies of Jiribam held a meeting today at the office of the Jiribam Ima Meira Paibi Apunba Lup (JIMPAL) around 11am and announced that the organizations and student bodies will send a fact finding team tp the Jiri College auditorium which had collapsed recently during a rainstorm.

The Jiri College Governing Body, Principal and the College Union were also invited to attend the meeting but all three failed to turn up.

The meeting also resolved that the governing body of the college should meet the CSOs and the student bodies before May 20 failing which the governing body should be held responsible for all follow up incidents.

MSF Jiri Branch Committee

The Manipur Students’ Federation (MSF) has said in a press release that a Jiri branch committee was opened at a function held at its head office under the guidance of Longjam Umakanta Meitei, President of Manipuri Students’ Federation and Romeo Keisham, President of Imphal East district Committee. New office bearers, 2013 – 2014 include B Ratan Sharma as President (Ingou Institute), M Nilakamal Singh as Vice President –I (Jiri College) among others.
