Magisterial probe into Noney killing ordered

Imphal, Jan 17: The Government of Manipur has ordered a magisterial enquiry into the alleged extrajudicial killing of Gongsingam Dangmei (18) s/o Gongbi Dangmei of Longmai, Noney Bazar in Tamenglong district by personnel of 10 Assam Rifles at Shangji village under Khoupum Police Station on December 30 last.

Issuing an order in this regard, District Magistrate of Tamenglong C Arthur W said that the terms of reference of the enquiry would look into the facts and circumstances leading to the incident, analysis of the facts and circumstances and findings based on the facts and circumstances and analysis thereof.

The District Magistrate, Tamenglong would be conducting the inquiry at his court room.

In this regard, any person(s) willing/desirous to give oral evidence or produce any material/documents before the enquiry officer in connection with the incident have been asked to submit his/her particulars in plain paper address to the District Magistrate on or before January 17.
