Proposed cease work strike of nurses called off
Imphal, Nov 21: The proposed ceasework strike announced by the RIMS Nurses Association, Lamphel has been called off following a talk held today in the office of the Director.
From the Association side H. Tampha, secretary and Ksh. Mangolnganbi, joint secretary were present.
The Director Prof S. Sekharjit, the Deputy Director (Adm) in charge E. Debendro Meitei who is also the chief accounts officer explained that the pay anomaly is being rectified in consultation with the patterns prevalent in other institutes and an amicable solution is expected shortly.
Other minor demands were solved on the table. The Director appealed to the Nurses to call off the proposed ceasework strike since untold hardships would be caused to the patients. Prof N. Damayanti, Principal in charge of the College of Nursing also appealed to them not to launch the strike since the 4th lamp lighting ceremony will be held on December 3. As high officials will be coming to RIMS from Delhi the strike will create a very bad impression on them.
After listening to the RIMS officials the Nurses were satisfied and agreed to call off the strike. From the RIMS side the Director thanked them for the good sense that prevailed eventually.
