NIA lines up 100 witnesses

IMPHAL, November 7: At least more than a hundred Prosecution Witnesses (PWs) are going to give their statements against UNLF chairman RK Meghen alias Sanayaima at the NIA court on Thursday.

Reports mention that the PW testimonial arrangement has been done by the National Investigation Agency to strengthen the charges of sedition filed against the UNLF supremo.

Sanayaima will be produced at NIA court tomorrow .His last appearance was on October 12 last.

Further, the PWs statements will be recorded during the Court’s proceedings on Thursday in front of the Special Judge of the NIA. Along with Sanayaima , another 17 detainees will also be produced with him. However, some have been bailed out amongst them, a source from Guwahati said.

It may be mentioned that since December 4, 2010, Sanayiama along with the other detainees have been charged under section 120 (B),121,121(A),122 and 16,17,18(A),18 (B) and 20, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 1967 of the Indian Penal Code.
