Monkey bites infant to death

IMPHAL, November 16: A one and half month old infant was bitten to death by a monkey today noon at Thangmeiband Leikanglong under Lamphel Police Station.

According to the police, the mother identified as Agana Gangmei and the infant have just returned from a nearby primary centre after vaccinating the infant and was standing at near a staircase, when suddenly a domestic monkey owned by one of their neighbour suddenly attack them.

Later, after hearing the news an angry local mob killed the monkey. The owner of the monkey has been identified as Naveen Rai.
