Suspicious arose over an encounter

Imphal, Oct 2: A reported encounter which took place this early morning where one suspected UG was killed is said to be a fake one said a family members where the localities took out a demonstration against the killing on Tuesday.

The said encounter took place at Lamdeng Khunou Makha Leikai located between two mountains in Imphal West district at around 5:30 am today, where the Imphal west police commandos claiming of recovering one 9mm pistol along 5 live rounds and two hand grenade near the slain body.

The suspect slain UG was identified as one Thiyam Romen Kumar 42 son of late Th. Mani of Irom Meijrou Mamang Leikai, Imphal West district.

Condemning the killing of Th. Romen Kumar the localities stage a sit in protest and held a public meeting where a joint action committee was form and took a resolution demanding the punishment of the commandos who are involve in the crime.

According to the family members who were present in the sit in protest site said that in the wee hours of today some unknown persons in civic dress with small arms forcefully enter the house and take him away in a gun point while he was sleeping with his 10 year old son.

At the time of the incident his wife and daughter were out of the house to watch a Shumang Leela (courtyard play), the said unknown person also ransacked their house as well of their neighbour said the victim family.

It create more suspicious when we see the dead body as when he was took away by the unknown persons suspected to be police commandos Romen wears a Khudei (indigenous clothe) and baniyan only added the family members.

But the said victim was once arrested back in the year 2010 for having a relation with KCP (MC) but after that he did not have any relation with any UGs groups said the family.
