Vehicle lifters arrested
Imphal, Sept 4: A gang of vehicles lifters were busted by the police in Manipur on Tuesday and arrested nine people and recover six vehicles said the police.
At least nine vehicles lifter were arrested by the Singjamei police, and recovered six vehicles from them, said officer in charge of Singjamei police station this morning in a press conference held at his office chamber.
L. Santosh, officer in charge Singjamei said from a specific information, the police arrested nine vehicles lifter from various places.
The six vehicles lifers are Md. Wahidur Rahaman alias Ethem (36) s/o (L) Md Haji Majahar of Lilong Yangbi Leikai, Heikrujam Kisan alias Babananda (22) s/o (L) H Bineshor Singh of Thongju part-II Pheija Leitong, Taiyenjam Vikas Singh (20) s/o T Bedajit Singh of Kakwa Naorem Leikai near Narshing Mandir, Laishram Devid Singh 20 s/o L. Babu Singh of Kakwa Nameirakpam Laikai, Pangangbam Dinesh Singh 22 s/o (L) P Jadumani of Kongba Uchekon Khunou, Irom Ormojit (19) s/o I naocha Singh of Singjamei Chanampukhri Mapal, Nameirakpam Robert alias Eithoi (19) s/o N. Rebetibabu of Kakwa Nameirakpam Leikai, Leimapokpam Abung alias Chitaranjan Singh (21) s/o Late Tombei Singh of Kyamgei Maning Leikai and Wangkeimayum Langamba alais Bicky Singh (27) s/o W. Tomchou Singh of Canchipur, MU first gate.
The Officer in-Chare said, from them the police has able to recovered 6 (six) 2 four wheeler and 4 two wheeler which includes Alto car, Maruti- 800, and the 4 two wheeler are R-15, Hero Honda and two Yamaha FZ.
He further said in the interrogation they disclosed that they lifted the vehicles mainly from place between Keishamthong areas to Lilong, Hiyangthang Tarahei konjel, mostly they lifted the vehicles during the time of festival in the state where large public use to gather.
In the meantime Singjamei police has produced the vehicles lifters and taken for 15 days remand on police custody for further investigation.
