Three proscribe militants arrested

Imphal, Sep 30: A combined team of commandos Thoubal and 15th Assam Rifle arrested one PREPAK self style lance corporal and two KCP (KK Nganba) fractions yesterday in a search operation said SP Thoubal on Sunday.

Statement released by the superintendent of police Thoubal distict, incharge Dr. Jhalajit said that a combined team of commandos Thoubal and 15th AR conducted a search operation at Heirok Ngarouthel Urak area at about 1:20 pm and arrested a cadre of PREPAK identified as Yaikhom Mangi Singh alias Herojit (28) s/o Y. Chaoba Singh of Nongsum Maning Leikai, Uyumpok and recovered one 9 mm pistol along with five live rounds.

In the spot inquiry, the individual reveals that he is an active member of PREPAK and at present he is Self Style Lance Corporal and working under the command of Kongjenbam Amar Singh (27) s/o K. Brajagopal Singh of Uyumpok Nongsum s/s commander, Imphal east.

The release further said that on the same day the combine teams further conducted a search operation at Wangjing SK Leikai and further arrested a cadre of KCP (KK-Nganba). And he is identified as Ningthoujam Amrjit Singh alias Boicha (24) s/o N. Samo Singh of Wangjing S.K. Leikai at about 3:20 pm, from him the teams have recovered one .22 revolver along with one live round and one Chinese hand grenade.

The Statement added again that the combined team conducted another search operation in the same day at Yairipok Bazar at around 2:05 pm and arrested one KCP (KK Nganba) identified as Ngasekam Rajdon alias Keba (25) s/o Ng. Tharo Singh of Yaripok Top Chingtha, and recovered one Chinese hand grenade.
