General strike cripples normal life in Ccpur
Lamka, Sep 29: The indefinite bandh called by the joint action committee (JAC) against the killing of Henkhothang Haokip, Chief of S.Nabil village paralyzed the normal life activities in Churachandpur district in its first day of the bandh on Saturday.
Volunteers of the bandh supported stopped any type of vehicles plying in the district and snatch the key of the vehicles for defying the bandh, only to disperse by the police later.
All business establishments, market, education institution, government offices remain closed for the day as well inter-district passenger bus were off the road.
The JAC secretary Samuel said that we have given enough time to the government to arrest the culprit but till today not a single positive steps has been taken up by them.
Though the police have arrested three people who are helping the three main culprits, but they are still roaming freely.
The indefinite bandh and other form of agitation will be carried on until our demands is not met by the government said the secretary.
