Engineers’ day celebrated

MP Dr. Meinya lights the candle.

IMPHAL, September 15: The 45th Engineers’ Day was celebrated today under the theme “Appropriate climate-responsive technologies for inclusive growth and sustainable development” at the Institution of Engineers (India), Manipur State Centre, Takyelpat.

The engineers’ day is being observed in commemoration with the 152nd birth anniversary of the legendary engineer, Bharat Ratana awardee, Mokshagundam Visvesvarya.

Floral tribute was also paid at the portrait of the legendary engineer at the function.

The function was attended by Dr T Meinya, MP, Lok Sabha, Kh Angou Singh, FIE, chairman, IEI, Manipur State Centre, Th Joykumar Singh, FIE, past controller of Technical Education & Training and retired chief engineer, PWD, M Lokendro Singh, FIE, chief engineer, PWD, Kh Rajchandra Singh, FIE, controller of Technical Education & Training, Manipur as the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
