Chief Minister launches Energy billing portal


Imphal Sep 21: The Chief Minister O. Ibobi Singh reiterates that the shortest of power in the state will be solve at the earliest which is pathetic, where five power sub-station was inaugurated in different location of greater Imphal on Friday.

The Chief Minister said that imposing of power load shedding became inevitable as there is a vast difference between the supply and the demand. He also assured that works for installation of 400KV line from Silchar to Imphal will be taken up soon. The chief minister repeated his government commitment to improve power supply not only in valley areas but in remote areas of the hill districts as well.

Chief Minister O. Ibobi Singh with the presence of his council minister and MLAs inaugurated five power sub-station located at different location in greater Imphal area and also launched an "Online Energy Billing Portal for IED-I.

The Chief Minister inaugurated 132/33 KV substation at Kongba and four numbers of 33/11 KV sub-station at Kangla, Sagiporou, Kakwa and Sangaipat.

While delivering his inaugural speech at the main function held at Kongba 2X20 MVA ,132/33 KV sub station, Chief Minister said that the government is taking all steps to solve the power problems reviling in the state. Power is part and parcel of mankind and the government has been giving priority to this sector.
He further said that with the inauguration of these five powers sub-station there would be stable and reliable power supply to a great extend and sought the cooperation of the public for successful implementation of these sub-stations. He also urged the people to make the best used of power.

The 33/11 KV sub-station with installed capacity of 2X5 MVA at Kangla at the cost of Rs. 5.88 crores will cover the archaeological park and nearby bazaar areas namely Thangal bazaar, North AOC, New Lambulane, Dewlalane, part of Thangmeiband, New Checkon and Hatta Golapati.

The another 33/11 KV sub-station of Sangaipat and Sangaporou is constructed at the cost of Rs. 13.90 crores and it will covered Paite veng, Sangaiporou areas, Thounaojam Leikai, Heinoukhongnembi, Kwakeithel areas, Khangempali, Lukram Leikai, Sayang Kuraomakhong etc.

And 2X5 33/11 KV sub station constructed at kakwa at the total cost of Rs.6.46 crores will supply power to Kyamgei, Kakwa, Singjamei, Yaiskul, Yumnam Leikai, Loklaobung, Waikhom Leikai, Mayengbam Leikai, and the sorrounding areas.

In the 2X20 MVA 132/33 KV sub station at Kongba was constructed at the cost of Rs. 21.16 crore and this will cover Wangkhei, Kongpal, Irilbung, Kshetrigao, Yairipok, Khongman, Uchekon-Khunou, Singjamei, Kakwa, Mongsangei, Canchipur, Nambol mapal, Heirangkhong etc.

In the mention during the inaugural function, the Chief Minister O. Ibobi Singh launched the Energy billing portal for IED-I, and said that the online Energy Billing Portal which has been launched today would enable customers to have instant online access to view details of their accounts monthly bills and payment status. This would solve the inconveniences which have been faced by the consumers before and help revenue collection and monitoring to a large extend.

In the meantime it may be noted that Power department has already started computerization of IED-I, IED-II, IED-III and IMD for about 45,000 consumer and about 60,000 consumers’ bill and payment will be available on the net within three months.
