Army jawan injured in Imphal blast, PLA claims hand in attack
Imphal, Sep 8: Yet after the Improvise Explosive Device (IED) fitted in scooter at Keishampat junction injuring two AR jawan in the blast on last Wednesday, today at Tiddim road along the National highway 150 in Imphal west district near Tiddim ground a suspected IED blast took place where 18th Sikh regiment who were on Road Opening Patrolling got injure including one civilian.

The injured persons are identified as lance night Ravindra Singh rifleman number-3403778 of Punjab Gaundapur village, and Akham Santi, 31 son of A. Modhu of kwakeithel bazaar, according to the police source the injured personal got a minor injury.
Meanwhile, soon after the bomb blast, concerned Imphal West District Police Commandos, SDPO of Imphal West District Police and officials of Sikh regiment rushed to the spot and made an enquiry into the incident. A case has been registered with Imphal Police Station in connection with the blast.
The People Liberation Army (PLA) has claimed the blast which took place today at National highway 150 near the Tiddim ground.
In the meantime, the SP of Imphal west district L Jayentakumar release a statement, in view of the recent incident, involving planting and exploring of IEDs by UGs causing injuries to public and security forces, and as a part of preventive measures and to prevent any untoward incidents like bomb/IEDs blast in the run up to the local body election in the district.
The district police further seek the cooperation of the public and requested them to help in preventing such incidents in the various manner saying to avoid unnecessary crowing, do not allow unattended vehicle park in front of your shop/house etc, alert/inform the police for any unattended/ abandoned vehicles, do not touch any suspicious left out, do not accept any gifts from unknown person, check your surrounding for any unusual changes and check any suspicious behavior of peoples/strangers,
And further mentioned by saying that in case, contact the concern police stations or higher officials of the home department added.
