AR gun down one

Imphal, Sep19: Two suspected militant were gunned down in an encounter at Phayeng Kharang Babulok cannal under Lamsang police station Imphal west district on Wednesday morning at around 3 am this morning by team of 10th Assam Rifles personnel said a police source.

Police have recovered one 9mm pistol, One AK Rifle, Two Hand Grenade, two detonators, One Magazine, 23 live rounds of AK rifle and suspected IED pack were recovered from the suspected militants bags, added the source.

The decease were pick up this afternoon, after the verification of the incident spot by the team of Forensic in the presents of Lamsang police teams, After the examination of the two dead bodies and the ammunition which were recovered from the spot, then the police picked up and deposited to RIMS morgue for further identification. Earlier, before the police teams arrived at Phayeng area, a locality of the village told the media that, we heard a loud multiple bullet firing at around 3 am this morning and it continued for a long period of time till early morning.

We were told that around two/three people were killed but it is not known yet because AR did not allow us to enter said villagers.

And further they said that we strongly condemn such action taken place near the village, and added that due to today encounter we the farmers have to skip our work in the paddy field.
