A surrendered ex-PREPAK cadre killed in encounter

Imphal Sep 21: The so called encounter claimed by the 10th AR where two suspect UGs were shot down seems like to a fake, as one of the victim families reportedly claim that their son is a surrendered cadres of PREPAK last year in front of O. Ibobi Singh.

Out of two suspected militant who were gun down in an encounter by 10th Assam Rifles personnel at Phayeng Kharang Babulok cannal under Lamsang police station, Imphal west district on the wee hour of September 19 was identified today.

According to family members that the decease is ex-PREPAK cadres who have surrendered to Chief Minister O.Ibobi Singh, in a Home coming ceremony held last year at IGAR (south).
The ex-PREPAK was identified as one Oinam Haoba Alias Nanao 18 s/o H. Tomchou of Chingmei makha leikai under Moirang police station.

The family further disclosed that O. Haoba was kept at M-Sector Imphal for some year and due to the recent panchayat election he come home to cast his vote and right after that her mother identified as Oinam Ongbi Memcha Devi drop him back at M-Sector.

In the meantime it may recall that in the wee hours of September 19th it was reported that an encounter took place near Phayeng Kharang Babulok cannal.

In the said encounter the state police have recovered one .9mm pistol, One AK Rifle, Two Grenade, two detonators, One Magazine, 23 live rounds of AK rifle and suspected IED pack were recovered from the decease carried bags, in presence of state forensics department as well as in front of the media persons who were present for reporting.
