Monsoon arrives in Northeast India
GUWAHATI: Monsoon has covered entire seven states of Northeast India on Thursday. Regional metrological centre has forecasted heavy downpour in Assam and Meghalaya in next 48 hours.
Sources said the arrival of Monsoon is on time. Generally monsoon hits Northeast India by June 5 however last year the arrival of the monsoon was delayed by at least a week.
South-west monsoon has progressed to Northeast covering Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura along with some parts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.
