“We are proud of their multiple duties and the government as well as the public rely on them,” the Home Minister said while expressing confidence that the trust of the people will not be spoiled by this force.
He also said policing is a tough task and that it is not same with that of Army. Policing should be carried out with strict discipline. The uniformed force needs proper training and without it a lot of faulty acts are often committed by them while discharging duty which in turn harms the society, Gaikhangam maintained.

The government has acquired a land area covering a hundred acre in Lamphelpat, he informed the police personnel and the commando complex will be shifted there as soon as possible. He also said development works like fencing of the area has already been started.
However, he informed that the present complex will also be renovated and further expressed expectation that the complex will be improved at the earliest.
