AR organise lecture cum awareness camps
Imphal, May 31: 28 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR(S) organised a Lecture cum awareness Campaign on Malaria, Tobacco and Alcohol Abuse at Lilong Haoreibi College, Lilong on 31 May 2012. Approximately 500 locals including village headman, Meirapaibis, Chairman Village Council, Youth Club, Students of College and other civil dignitaries attended the campaign. Speaking on the occasion, Commandant 28 Assam Rifles stressed upon the importance of good relations between the Armed Forces and local populace. He emphasised that Assam Rifles would continue to strive for the welfare and security of the people and will always endeavour to give meaningful assistance to the people of Manipur.
In another occasion, 15 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR(S) organized a awareness Camp on the occasion of Anti-tobacco Day at STBNA School, Irong on 31 May 2012. More than 300 students and 20 teachers attended the awareness camp. The main motive on this special occasion to give the knowledge about narcotics, drugs and tobacco. They interacted with the youth impressing the negative impact of drugs menace upon the youth. The students attended the lecture with interest which was evident by the related questions being revised by the students.
In yet another occasion, 37 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR(S) organised an awareness program on Prevention of Drug Abuse lecture at Hengshi village on 30 May 2012. More than 63 villagers attended the event.
