Komrem students’ annual get together held
IMPHAL, Nov 30: The annual get together cum literary meet 2013 of Komrem Students’ Union, Manipur was today held at the auditorium of Tribal Research Institute (TRI), Imphal. The program was organized by the union on the theme “Towards Excellence”.
The function was graced by Deputy Chief Minister, Gaikhangam as chief guest while T Manga Vaiphei, chairman of Manipur Tribal Development Corporation; ST Nunghlung Victor, MLA of Chandel AC were the guests of honour respectively and Lalkhomang Serto, president of KRU (NEI) attended as functional president.
During the function, Gaikhangam stated that although Kom is a small tribe, this community occupies a vital space in the society. He stated that Kom tribe is God’s chosen tribe. The deputy CM further appreciated the contribution of the Kom community to the society and also congratulated persons amongst the community like MC Mary Kom and others who have brought pride for the nation.
The chief guest of the function also distributed prizes to the toppers of the literary meet in various categories.
